New Delhi: The verdict in the MJ Akbar-Priya Ramani case will now be delivered on February 17, a Delhi court said on Wednesday.
Delays in written submissions have led to the verdict being deferred, the court said.
A defamation case was filed against former editor and Union minister Akbar after Ramani, a journalist, accused him of sexual harassment in 2018 when the ‘Me Too’ campaign w
as at its peak.
Ramani had tweeted that she was sexually harassed 20 years ago when she had gone to meet Akbar – then the editor of an English newspaper — for an interview.
Akbar subsequently quit as minister and also filed a complaint against Ramani, accusing her of tarnishing his image.
