New Delhi: A doctor of Odisha’s Cuttack district succumbed to suspected COVID-19 at Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital here at 11 am on Saturday.
The 39-year-old was working as a senior consultant with the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC).
On June 16, he was admitted to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital after showing symptoms of acute respiratory illness. Two days later, he was shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital, sources said.
On June 19, he was diagnosed with comorbidity conditions of uncontrolled diabetes and was stable until Friday when he was found to have contracted the virus. His health conditions deteriorated this morning and he was put on a ventilator, the sources further said.
He did his MBBS and completed MD in Community Medicine from MKCG Medical College, Berhampur. He was a native of Banki.
His wife and three-year-old twins have also been infected and admitted to KIMS COVID Hospital in Bhubaneswar, the sources added.
