Bhubaneswar: Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of State Crime Branch in connection with the Artha Tatwa (AT) chit fund fraud on Tuesday.
Talking to mediapersons after four hours of grilling, the MLA said, “I have submitted some bank documents and other papers related to my movable and immovable assets. The ED officials have asked me to submit some other documents within the next 10 days.”
The legislator was arrested on October 31, 2014, for his alleged links with the Ponzi firm. He, however, was granted bail by the Orissa High Court on March 3, 2015.
In the chargesheet filed against Tripathy, the CBI had stated that the MLA as the president of Odisha State Cooperative Union from 2008 to 2011, used his clout over the Assistant registrar of Cooperative Societies to register AT Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited at short notice.
