Money Instead Of Tissues At Ambani Party? Check Out

New Delhi: The lavish event hosted by the Ambanis for the opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) continues to make news for its opulence and the attendees. Photos from the party by the Ambanis continue to surface. One among them has set the eyeballs rolling. It has now turned into a viral social media post.

Twitter user “RATNISH” shared a picture of the dessert, which was decorated with Rs. 500 notes and served at the party. And it wasn’t just one serving; several of these dessert bowls were kept on a table for the guests. The user wrote, “Ambani ji ke party mein tissue paper ki jagah 500 ke notes hote hain” (At Ambanis’ party, Rs. 500 notes are served instead of tissue papers).

Of course, a closer look reveals it’s all a joke. Delhiites would recognise the dish popular in Old Delhi and also served at a fine dining Delhi restaurant called “Indian Accent.” It is called “daulat ki chaat.” Daulat means wealth.

It is a light, airy, melt-in-mouth souffle-like dessert made of milk foam. The foam is usually topped with pistachios, khoya, and powdered sugar. Daulat ki chaat is exclusively available only during a couple of months in the winter season when milk is thick, and the foamy dessert holds together and doesn’t melt away. Indian Accent restaurant remodelled the dessert by adding fake notes, calling it the “dessert of the riches.” Foodies were quick to realize that the Twitter post actually spoke about this dessert, and the Ambanis didn’t serve money to their guests.
