More Dialysis Units To Come Up In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: To facilitate timely and free treatment to the patients suffering from kidney related ailments, Odisha government has decided to set up more dialysis units in the state very soon.
As informed by the Health and Family Welfare minister Pratap Jena, a dialysis unit has been made operational under the PPP mode at Jagatsinghpur district headquarters hospital since December 14.
Besides Jagatsinghpur, the dialysis units have been set up at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, district headquarters hospitals in Angul, Balasore, Balangir, Boudh, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Keonjhar, Koraput, Nayagarh, Puri, Rayagada, Sundargarh and Jharsuguda and the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Narasinghpur in Cuttack district, he said.
Stating that a total of 19 dialysis units have been made operational in the state during 2018-19, the minister said the department will announce the name of the seven districts where these units will be set up.
“The diagnosis and treatment of the kidney patients are being made free of cost in these hospitals,” Jena said adding that a total of 28,665 patients have undergone free dialysis by December this year.
