More Teachers May Lose Jobs In Odisha, Govt Initiates Action Against 96; Know Why
Bhubaneswar: Action has been initiated against over 96 teachers posted in different schools in Odisha for remaining absent from duty for a long time, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said on Saturday.
Stating that there is no information regarding the whereabouts of around 96 teachers who have been absent for a long time, the Minister said action has been initiated against them after they failed to respond to repeated notices of the department.
The decision to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the absentee teachers, who worked as Sikhya Sahayaks under the district administration, was taken at a meeting of the department, according to sources.
It may be noted that as many as 36 teachers of different schools have so far been dismissed from service by the department in three districts of the state so far for their absence from duty for a very long time.
