Bhubaneswar: Keeping the rising temperature in mind, the Odisha government on Wednesday announced morning classes in all schools from April 2.
School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash informed that classes for students of Class I to VIII will be held from 6.30 am to 10 am while that of Class IX and X from 7 am to 11 am.
Notably, the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has extended the heatwave warning for Odisha till April 1. It has forecast a rise in the day temperature by 2 to 3 degree Celius during the next 2 days, which will remain 3 to 5 degree Celsius above normal at many places in Interior Odisha during the next 3 to 4 days.
Heatwave warning has been issued for eight districts – Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Angul, and Kalahandi.
