MSME Sector To Have Higher Budget Next Year: Odisha CM

Bhubaneswar: The state government is planning to increase the budget for MSMEs in next financial year, said chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the International MSME Trade Fair, 2021 and Entrepreneurship Week with a focus on Missin Shakti and women entrepreneurs, here.

“My government will always go the extra mile to help and encourage the MSMEs to encourage them to participate and contribute in building a vibrant and globally competitive new resurgent Odisha,” he said.

Stating that the impact of COVID-19 pandemic has been far beyond the public health sector, he said the economy has been severely affected. The MSME will take a long time to recover fully.

“Our government had announced a special package to support the MSME sector. We will continue to engage with the MSMEs and ensure that the COVID impact is minimised,” he said.

This year, MSME Trade Fair- 2021 is having more than 320 stalls divided into 5 sections with a capacity of 60 stalls each. While one section is devoted to the mission Shakti for the SHGs and women entrepreneurs, others have MSME, food processing, startups, engineering & allied sector and  exporters.

Besides, large CPSUs like NALCO, MCL, 10 different banks, 10 exporters, Ruchi Masala, Paradeep Refinery, DIO, EPM, OSIC, IIMT, Coir Brand, OKVIB, OCCCL, ORTSS, ITI Cuttack, IIT Bhubaneswar, and MO School are participating in the Trade Fair.
