Mumbai: After Sonakshi Sinha clapped back at Mukesh Khanna for his ‘distasteful’ comments about her upbringing, the ‘Shaktimaan’ actor rendered a ‘half-hearted’ apology to the actress.
Reacting to Sonakshi’s social media post, the veteran actor stated that he didn’t intend anything malicious for her and wanted to guide GenZ in knowing their roots.
According to Mukesh, GenZ is obsessed with Google and Wikipedia, and he wanted to use Sonakshi’s KBC moment as a teaching moment for the younger generation.
However, it didn’t go down well with netizens, who believed that Mukesh was desperate for attention.
A user wrote, “I miss the time when this guy was not in the news.”
Another commented, “Why is this guy such an attention seeker?” “Somebody please take away his internet privileges,” wrote another.
Fans were quick to point out that the veteran actor never mentioned ‘sorry’ in his apology post.
One user quipped, “Not so ‘Sorry Shaktimaan’.”
Another said, “The most unapologetic apology ever.”
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Mukesh blamed Shatrughan Sinha for not teaching his daughter about Ramayana.
Sonakshi reacted by sharing a post for Mukesh Khanna on her Instagram handle.
She wrote, “Dear Sir, Mukesh Khanna ji …I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not answer a question about the Ramayana correctly on a show I attended many, many years back. Firstly, let me remind you there were two women on the hot seat that day who did not know the answer to the same question, but you choose to keep taking my name, and only my name, for reasons which are quite obvious.”
Sonkashi’s father Shatrughan also slammed Mukesh for his ‘distasteful comments’ about his daughter.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Shatrughan said, “I believe someone has problem with Sonakshi not answering a question on the Ramayan. Firstly, what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with the Ramayan? And who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion?”
