Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has detained Roshan Jena, an accused in 2019 Diwali night murder case under Airfield police limits, under the National Security Act (NSA).
According to a tweet, he has been detained for acting in a manner prejudicial to public order after being released on bail.

On September 10, Jena (20) had taken out a motorcycle and jeep rally from Special Jail Jharpada here to Sundarpada after being released on bail. He and three others were arrested by police on September 15 for violating COVID guidelines.
On October 27, Amaresh Nayak of BDA Colony in Sundarpada area was bludgeoned and hacked to death after a violent clash erupted between two locals groups over bursting firecrackers.

Besides Jena, Sankar Bastia (24) of Harachandi Sahi in Old Town, Jagdish Jogendra alias Raja (22) of Kapila Prasad and Jitendra Kumar Mallick (22) of Behera Sahi in Sundarpada were also arrested in connection with the murder.
