New Delhi: The man behind the brutal murder of a 16-year-old girl in the national Capital was arrested from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
CCTV footage captured Sahil, the accused, stabbing the minor multiple times with a stone slab on a crowded lane in Rohini’s Shahbad Dairy area.
“We have arrested the accused, Sahil from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. He used to work as a mechanic for AC and refrigerators. Further investigation is underway. We will make sure that the maximum punishment is given to the accused, DCP Delhi Suman Nalwa was quoted as saying by ANI.
The parents of the girl said they didn’t know the murderer and claimed death sentence for Sahil.
“We never knew about the man. We want death sentence for him,” the girl’s mother said.
The father also demanded stringent punishment for the accused, saying that his daughter was stabbed many times and her head bludgeoned into pieces
“I don’t know about the relationship between the two. I have never heard about him from her friends,” he said.
An FIR has been registered at Shahbad Dairy police station, under Section 302 of IPC.
