Mumbai: Celebrity couple Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala exchanged wedding vows on December 4 at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad.
The wedding was an intimate but grand affair with family members and close friends on the guest list. Pictures and videos of the celebrity wedding were shared online for fans and well-wishers.
However, one apparently ‘cringe’ video from the wedding took social media by storm and has left internet divided.
In the video, bride Sobhita is seen touching groom Naga Chaitanya’s feet to seek blessings and this has not gone down well with a section of netizens.

The act of touching the groom’s feet was criticized by some netizens, who questioned the significance of this custom in the modern age.
An Instagram user questioned, “Are we really in 2024?”
Another user mocked at the custom by stating that it’s strange to see people who support feminism are following such customs.
“He is not even stopping her. Instead, he thinks he is some God and acting like giving blessings,” criticized another user.
“Sam (Naga Chaitanya’s ex-wife Samantha Ruth Prabhu) must be dying of laughter watching this,” wrote a user.
Another commented, “Talks about women feminism and all and touches his feet.”
One user shared “Male ego satisfaction.”
Whereas another expressed, “So cringe.”
However, some fans defended the couple by stating that touching husband’s feet to seek blessings is a traditional Indian custom.
A fan explained that the bride represents Goddess Lakshmi and the groom represents Lord Vishnu.
