Naseer Expresses Concern Over Country’s Situation

Mumbai: Actor Naseeruddin Shah said he is afraid of the scenario in India today. He said he is worried at the prevailing situation in the country.
In connection with the Bulandshahr violence in which a police inspector and a man were killed by a mob earlier this month, the actor remarked, “A cow’s life seems to be more important than a cop’s life.”
He had earlier said that cricketer Virat Kohli is the worst behaved player in the world. The actor also said that it seems people are free to take the law into their hands. “There is no fear of the law left. A strange vitiated atmosphere is prevailing in the country at present,” he said. Here is what he also said. “I am worried about my children, their future. Tomorrow, what if a mob surrounds them and asks them about their religion, whether they are Hindu or Muslim?”

“I feel angry when I think about such a situation and every right thinking person should be angry. But don’t be afraid by such a scenario. This country is our home and no one can ask us to leave.”
