National Film Awards: Allu Arjun Best Actor; Alia & Kriti Joint Best Actress; Check Other Winners

New Delhi: Allu Arjun, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon were the big winners in the National Film Awards 2023 which were announced here on Thursday.

Allu was named Best Actor award for his performance in ‘Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1’, a mega hit directed by Sukumar.

Alia and Kriti shared the Best Actress awards for their roles in ‘Gangubhai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Mimi’. Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed ‘Gangubhai Kathiawadi’, while ‘Mimi’ was helmed by Laxman Utekar.

‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ was adjudged the Best Film. The film is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan, a scientist at Indian Space Research Organisation who was accused in the ISRO espionage case and later exonerated.

R Madhavan, who plays Nambi, has also written, produced and directed the film.

The awards for Best Supporting roles were bagged by Pallavi Joshi (The Kashmir Files) and Pankaj Tripathi (Mimi).

SS Rajamouli’s epic historical film ‘RRR’ bagged National Awards for Best Action Direction, Choreography and Special Effects.

‘The Kashmir Files’ won the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration. The Vivek Agnihotri-directed film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi and Chinmay Mandlekar in key roles.

Anupam Patnaik’s ‘Pratikhshya’ won the best Odia film award.

Before the names of award-winning films were announced, Neerja Sekhar, Additional Secretary, I & B, told mediapersons that 280 feature films in 28 languages and 158 non-feature films in 23 languages were considered for the 69th National Film Awards.

Best Non-Feature Film – Ek Tha Gaon (Garhwali & Hindi)

Best Director – Bakual Matiyani for the film Smile Please (Hindi)

Best Film on Family Values – Chand Saanse (Hindi)

Best Cinematographer – Bittu Rawat for the film Pataal Tee (Bhotiya)

Best Investigative Film – Looking For Challan (English)

Best Educational Film – Sirpigalin Sipangal (Tamil)

Best Film on Social Issues – Mithu Di (English), Three Two One (Marathi & Hindi)

Best Environmental Films – Munnam Valavu (Malayalam)
