Naveen Approves 21 Road Projects Worth Rs 158 Crore In Malkangiri District
Bhubaneswar: In a bid to improve connectivity in remote areas of Malkangiri district, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday approved 21 road projects proposed by the Rural Development department.
Under the projects, total 172.53 km of roads will be taken up with a cost of Rs 158 crore. These roads will improve rural connectivity in the interior blocks of Chitrakonda, Kalimela, Korukunda and Podia.
The 32-km road from Muduliguda to Amalibeda in Chitrakonda will be constructed at a cost of Rs 30 crore, while Pollur to Kursanpalli road of 11.6 km will be constructed at a cost of Rs 9 crore.
These projects are taken up under the Mukhyamantri Sadak Yojana-Connecting Unconnected Villages in Difficult Areas (MMSY-CUVDA) scheme fully funded by the state government. It aims at improving rural connectivity in Maoist affected and challenging areas.
The suggestions for these projects were made in the public grievance meeting in Malkangiri during the visit of secretary (5T) VK Pandian. The Rural Development department took up the survey and estimates on top priority and submitted for the government’s approvals.
