Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the proposal to set up an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district.
A release from the chief minister’s office (CMO) on Friday said the ITI will be set up at Lakhanpur in the district with a cost of Rs 24.48 crore. The entire cost of the institute will be sources from the district mineral fund (DMF).
The chief minister decided in favour of the ITI in Jharsuguda considering the fact that the district is mineral rich area and needs skilled workforce in various aspects of the mining.
The sanctioned fund will be utilised in construction of an academic building and a workshop besides procurement of equipment and necessary gadgets for the institute. The ITI will impart training on 9 subjects, the release stated.
