Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday dedicated 445 transformed high schools in 5 districts of Odisha.
On fifth day of the second phase of school transformation scheme of the state government, the chief minister inaugurated 235 high schools in Balasore district, 95 in Puri, 60 in Nayagarh, 75 in Jagatsinghpur and 80 in Bhadrak district through video-conference from Bhubaneswar. Total 2,908 transformed high schools have been inaugurated in the second phase of the scheme so far.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister called upon the students to excel not only in academics but also extra-curricular activities like sports, arts, leadership and social service.
“School life is the best time in life. The foundation of a new Odisha will be laid and the goals of a new Odisha can be achieved through the realisation of the dreams of the children,” he said.
“Every child is special and is endowed with talent. The school transformation programme under 5T initiative is a government attempt to enable them to explore their talent and achieve their goals with confidence,” Naveen added.
Explaining the importance of the 5T initiative, he thanked the school management committees, panchayat representatives and the teachers for the success of school transformation programme.
Ministers Aswini Patra and Samir Ranjan Das, MLAs Arun Kumar Sahoo and Byomkesh Ray also spoke on the occasion. Chief secretary Suresh Mohapatra and other senior officers were present at the programme which was coordinated by secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian.
