Naveen Dedicates 449 Transformed High Schools In 5 Districts
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday dedicated 449 transformed schools in 5 districts under the 5T initiative.
The chief minister dedicated the high schools through video-conferencing on the third day of the third phase of the school transformation programme. Total 233 schools were covered under the programme in Balasore district, 64 in Nayagarh, 58 in Nuapada 49 in Sundargarh and 45 in Rayagada.
With this, total 1,134 high schools have been transformed in the third phase while 3,981 schools were covered in the second phase of the programme. After the end of the three phases, total 6,132 high schools would be brought under the 5T initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, Naveen said the transformation of the schools has not only improved the atmosphere in the campus but also boosted the confidence of the students, particularly with the separate toilet facility for girls.
Stating that the present day is the age of technology, he advised the students to make the best of opportunities offered in their schools to improve their skills in this field. He also stressed on the 5 elements of 5T and its significance in the career of the students.
The government has been striving to provide all facilities to the students to excel in their lives for which it has reserved 15% of seats in medical and engineering colleges for the students of government schools, he said.
The MLAs of the five districts spoke at the function which was coordinated by secretary (5T) to chief minister VK Pandian.
