Naveen Inaugurates Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal In Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated state-of-the-art Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar on Friday evening.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the bus terminus, which will serve the commuters amid all modern facilities, will remain a landmark in development initiatives of the state government.
Executed by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), the bus terminus has been built in an area of 17.32 acre at the same place where the old bus stand was located. Its work was started in November, 2019.
The terminal has 44 active bus bays, while 5 bays are reserved for city bus services and 111 bus bays for idle parking.
It has provision for over 100 auto-rickshaw and 20 taxi parking spaces along with space for 85 two-wheeler parking. The stilt floor has 20 parking slots each for private cars and bikes.
The ground floor of the terminal has the facilities of dormitory for passengers, drink from tap, cloak room, prepaid auto service, ATM and baby feeding room.
The first floor houses other provisions including multi cuisine food-court, Aahaar Kendra, Mission Shakti Kiosk, children’s play area, wellness centre, police outpost, Control Command Centre, OTDC Travel Kiosk, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Gallery.
There are total 5 lifts and 2 escalators for the passengers and the entire campus is kept under security check through 120 CCTV cameras.
