Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched four new health service schemes at the state secretariat here on Tuesday.
“The state government has decided to provide identified diagnostic services free of cost to all patients in the public health facilities of the state from January 1, 2018 under NIDAAN scheme. Besides. additional diagnostic services such as High-End Pathology tests, Digital X-Ray, CT Scan and MRI will be provided free of cost in government facilities in PPP mode by March, 2018″, the Chief Minister said.
Under the second scheme SAHAY, the government will provide free dialysis service to the patients in public health facilities from January 1, 2018. A total of 127 dialysis machines will be installed in PPP mode at 25 district headquarters hospitals and one at Community Health Centre (CHC) Narsinghpur of Cuttack district by March 2018.The government has made a budgetary provision of about Rs 600 crore over 5 years to provide free diagnostic and dialysis services in the state, the CM added.
“For quality healthcare in urban area, the state government is providing additional services in urban clinics under AMA service, which includes fixed day specialist services in Obstetrics and Gynaeology, Paediatrics, Medicine and Geriatrics, eye-care Physiotherapy and Psychiatric services. Urban population of over 45 lakh in 27 cities/towns will be benefited under this programme”, Naveen added.
He further highlighted the government’s decision to provide ANMOL Tablet computers to all ANMs with a view to equip them with latest technology.
