Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Sunday appointed advisors, working president, zone president and senior vice-president of its women’s wing.
These appointments have been made on the recommendation of Biju Mahila Janata Dal president Snehangini Churria, an office order said.
Subhasini Jena, Sulata Deo and Nibedita Mohanty have been appointed as working president.
This came a day after the appointment of district observers and six senior observers with an eye on the three-tier panchayat poll slated for next year.

Following her appointment as an advisor, Latika said that Odisha is the only state where women leaders are getting importance. “My efforts will be towards strengthening the women’s wing of the party. BJD has been pushing for 33 per cent women reservation in Parliament and accordingly, the party had fielded seven women candidates in the 2019 elections to drive home the point,” she added.
