Nawazuddin, Estranged Wife Aaliya & Kids Asked To Appear Before HC; Know Why

Mumbai: Is a settlement on the cards in the sordid Nawazuddin Siddiqui-Aaliya Siddiqui marital saga?

The actor and his estranged wife have been asked to appear before the Bombay High Court along with their two minor kids to explore the possibility of a settlement.

A division bench of Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Sharmila Deshmukh on Thursday directed the Siddiqui family to appear before it on April 3 in the judge’s chamber for an in-camera hearing.

“We are concerned for the children… let’s explore the possibility of an amicable settlement,” the court said.

Nawazuddin’s lawyer Adnan Shaikh submitted that a proposed consent term was sent earlier, as directed by the high court.

“We have sent the proposed consent terms. It has been six days but we have got no reply… Don’t think they want to settle,” Shaikh stated.

Aaliya’s advocate Chaitanya Purankar argued that she, too, wants to settle the matter.

Nawazuddin had filed a petition seeking a direction to his estranged wife to reveal whereabouts of their 12-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son.

The actor, who a week ago had filed a Rs 100-crore defamation suit against Aaliya and his brother, claimed his wife had brought the children from Dubai to India without informing him and that it was affecting their education.
