Bhubaneswar: Noting that industries cannot flourish without the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that the security of all ports in the country will also be handled by the CISF.
The Home Minister was speaking at the 57th Raising Day of the CISF at Kharavela Regional Training Centre (KRTC) at Mundali in Cuttack district.
“The vision of India’s industrial development cannot be achieved without CISF. Be it airports, ports, vital installations, or large industrial units, CISF always stands firmly as the nation’s shield. Therefore, the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided that the security of all ports will also be entrusted to CISF,” he said.
Stating that the CISF has not only fulfilled the objectives of its establishment, but has also undergone changes while facing every kind of challenge, Shah said valour, sacrifice, and dedication are indicative of the glorious tradition of India’s rich history. “By combining these with focus and equipping itself with modern weapons, the CISF has demonstrated the spirit to confront every kind of challenge,” the Home Minister said.
“The resolve of the Modi Government is that we will free the country from Naxalism before March 31, 2026. The CISF has a very significant contribution in this as well. Be it Odisha, Chhattisgarh, or Telangana, the CISF has played its role in the eradication of Naxalism everywhere,” said Shah.
Asserting that all steps are being taken to eliminate Naxalism by March 31, Shah said those who dream of a Red Corridor from Tirupati to Pashupati will be defeated, and the security forces are set to establish their dominance.
Shah said the CISF is providing security at 361 important institutions in the country, including 70 airports. Somewhere they are securing the Statue of Unity of Sardar Patel, somewhere they are securing the Parliament premises, the largest Panchayat of democracy, somewhere the CISF is securing dams and critical infrastructure, he said.
