New Govt Degree Colleges In Odisha’s 3 Districts To Function From 2024-25 Academic Year

Bhubaneswar: 5T and Nabin Odisha chairman VK Pandian visited Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Koraput districts to review the progress of various developmental works and interacted with the public.

In Malkangiri district, Pandian reviewed the progress of Govindapalli Integrated Irrigation project on river Saptadhara and Garia which will provide irrigation facilities to 92,815 acre in Malkangiri, Mathili, Khairput and Korkunda blocks. During his last visit to Malkangiri on March 28, 2023, people had requested for this project. Based on this, a DPR of Rs 4000 crore has been prepared.

In Nabarangpur, he reviewed the progress of Parbati Giri Mega Lift Irrigation project taken up at a cost of Rs 1272 crore to provide irrigation to 48,500 acre and Turi-Gunthat irrigation project at a cost of Rs 577 crore for irrigation facilities to 22,500 acre.

Pandian informed that government has sanctioned new degree colleges in Tentulikhunti, Kosagumuda, Jharigam and Raighar blocks in Nabarangpur district, Bandhugaon and Narayanpatna blocks in Koraput and Chitrakonda block in Malkangiri. All these colleges will start functioning from 2024-25 academic year.

He also reviewed the progress of tourism infrastructure development being executed at a cost of Rs 25.5 crore at various locations in Nabarangpur district.

In Koraput, Pandian reviewed the progress of development of Gupteswar Temple at Boipariguda at a cost of Rs 20.2 crore and Jhanjabati river barrage at a cost of Rs 100 crore with a potential to irrigate 4720 acre.

He also interacted with the public at Raighar Stadium in Nabarangpur and Railway Ground at Laxmipur in Koraput and received grievances on various issues from the public.
