Berhampur: In view of possible spread of new strain of SARs-CoV2, Ganjam collector Vijay Amrit Kulange on Friday asked all government employees not to leave headquarters without permission from controlling authority.
In an official order, the collector also imposed restriction on public congregation considering the nature of fast spread of the new strain detected in the United Kingdom.
Any casual behavior and undesirable events may create a conducive atmosphere for further spread of COVID-19 infections, Kulange said.
He asked all sub-collectors and sub-divisional magistrates to be more vigilant, monitor and review the situation regarding symptoms generation in their respective areas.
He further said that a huge crowd may gather at different picnic spots and sea beaches of the district in view of weekend holidays and necessary preventive actions should be initiated to regulate the congregation of the people.
