Bhubaneswar: A newly-married woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a house in a slum area in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
As per preliminary information, the woman was found hanging inside the house in Bhagabati slum area of Unit-9 in the capital city. The body reportedly had some injury marks, sources said.
After being informed, a team from Kharvel Nagar police station visited the spot and launched an investigation into the incident to ascertain the exact reason of the woman’s death.
Locals said the woman had reportedly married around five months ago. She was staying in the house located in Bhagabati slum with her husband and brother-in-law.
The police have seized the body and sent it for postmortem to the Capital Hospital. The husband and brother-in-law of the deceased woman and some others are being questioned by the police in connection with the incident. A case of unnatural death has been registered.
The family members of the woman have also been informed.
