Next-Generation Incubation Scheme: Odisha Capital Among 12 Cities Selected For Implementation; Check Details
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s capital is among 12 cities selected by the Ministry of Electronics and IT for implementation of the next generation incubation scheme (NGIS) to support innovative enterprises, a step set to boost start-ups in Odisha.
The other Tier-II cities selected for the scheme are Agartala, Bhilai, Bhopal, Dehradun, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Mohali, Patna and Vijayawada.
Entrusted to Software Technology Park of India (STPI), NGIS will support 300 start-ups engaged in software product development.
Replying to a question by Odisha Rajya Sabha member Sasmit Patra, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar said NGIS has a budgetary outlay of Rs 95.03 crore over a period of three years.
“Selected start-ups will be incentivised with seed-fund of up to Rs 25 lakh each. Other expenses have also been earmarked for marketing support, intern/challenge grant, software product security testing service, hackathon, manpower and management,” he said.
