Bhubaneswar: Amid the winter chill, Odisha may witness a slight rise in night temperature after two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Friday.
According to the midday bulletin, the night temperature in the state is likely to rise by 2-3 degree Celsius after two 2 days. The mercury may hover around 12-14 degree Celsius in twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack during next seven days.
The weather agency has also warned of dense fog at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal and Koraput districts till Saturday morning. Shallow to moderate fog may also occur at one or two places in Angul, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Shallow to moderate fog may continue at one or two places in Angul, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj during the subsequent 24 hours.
In the last 24 hours, the mercury plummeted below 10 degree Celsius at nine places in the state with G Udayagiri, the hill station in Kandhamal, being the coldest at 4.8 degree Celsius for the second day in a row. Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded 12.4°C and 14°C respectively, which was 1°C below normal. The twin cities had recorded 13°C and 13.2°C respectively the previous day.
