Nine Hostels In Odisha Agriculture Varsity To Serve As Coronavirus Quarantine Centres

Bhubaneswar: Nine hostels of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) have been declared as quarantine centres to ensure enough beds for suspected coronavirus cases in the Odisha capital.

“Hostels – 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,10 and 11 along with GJ Complex of the OUAT have been declared as quarantine facilities with immediate effect,” an order issued by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.

An OUAT official said that preparations have begun to ensure all basic services at the hostels so that they can be used as quarantine facilities.

The BMC had earlier notified nine hostels in the city as pay-and-use quarantine facility for people returning to the state from abroad to undergo the mandatory 14 days self-isolation.
