Bhubaneswar: Niramaya medicine stores will remain open round-the-clock across Odisha for the convenience of patients.
This was stated by Public Enterprise Minister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, who conducted an extensive review of the Odisha State Medical Corporation Limited (OSMCL) on Wednesday.0
Underlining the need for uninterrupted public service, he said all Niramaya centres across the state have been directed to operate round-the-clock.
OSMCL was instructed to ensure the uninterrupted and timely supply of essential drugs and medical equipment to healthcare facilities.
The Minister further said that a squad has been formed to keep vigil on Niramaya medicine stores whether they remain open 24×7 or not. In case of any violation, necessary action will be taken.
Discussion was held in the meeting on whether medicines from the Corporation are regularly reaching Niramaya medicine stores or not and whether enough medicines are available in Niramaya medicine stores or not, sources said.
The Minister conducted the review with a special focus on enhancing the infrastructure and services of PRM Medical College & Hospital.
During the meeting, the minister emphasized the importance of transforming PRM Medical College & Hospital into a centre of excellence for advanced patient care. He directed immediate measures to equip the facility with required medical infrastructure and resources to cater to the growing healthcare needs of the region.
The minister stressed on prioritizing modern equipment and supply of drugs as per requirement to healthcare facilities.
Comprehensive discussions were held on audits and CSR initiatives to enhance accountability and community impact.
Puma Tudu, Managing Director of OSMCL, provided a detailed presentation on the corporation’s achievements and ongoing efforts.
