Niti Aayog VC Rajiv Kumar, Who Focused On ‘Aspirational Districts’, Resigns
New Delhi: Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar has resigned. The Centre on Friday appointed Suman K Bery to the post. Bery will take charge from May 1.
Kumar, an eminent economist, took over as Niti Aayog Vice Chairman in August 2017 after the exit of then VC Arvind Panagariya.
Kumar played a key role in Niti Aayog’s policy-making, focusing on agriculture, asset monetisation, disinvestment, aspirational districts programme and electric vehicles, among others.
Bery had earlier served as Director-General (Chief Executive) of the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), New Delhi.
