Bhubaneswar: Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari, who visited the World Skill Center (WSC) here on Thursday, was impressed with what he saw.
Gadkari was happy to see the WSC playing a significant role in skill development and offering industry-oriented training to Odisha’s youth.
Gadkari, who laid foundation stone for highway projects worth over Rs 4,000 crore during his one-day visit to the state, praised the state government for establishing this ultra-modern infrastructure.
Gadkari interacted with students about their skill development and career aspirations.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi accompanied Gadkari to the WSC which has world-class facilities including advanced laboratories for Vertical Transportation, Centre of Excellence in Advanced Welding, Automation and Basic Robotics.
Among others present were Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi and Khurda MLA Prashant Jagadev.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the skill development sector is being strengthened. Various steps are being taken to enhance the skills of the youth. The World Skill Center has a significant contribution in this regard. With the latest training, students are getting employment opportunities in the country and abroad. In the coming days, Odisha is going to get a special identity in the field of skill development,’’ said Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of Skill Development & Technical Education.
