Paradip: The authorities of the Paradip Port on Friday banned movement of motorbikes and bicycles in the prohibited area of the port for the safety of the workers and staff.
As an alternative measure, the port authorities began bus service in the port areas.
Chairman of the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) Rinkesh Roy launched the new service by the flagging off four new buses this morning.
In the first phase, four buses of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) and the state Tourism Department will ply inside the port area, Roy said.
