North Korea To Put Military On High Alert; New Nuclear War Policies Underway: Report
New Delhi: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is planning to formulate new policies to increase the country’s ‘nuclear war deterrence’ and put the military forces on a high alert operation, state news agency KCNA confirmed.
The military discussions in North Korea are said to have been triggered with the US considering to hold its first nuclear test since 1992 to warn Russia and China, as published in The Washington Post on Friday.
In the meeting, the leader emphasised on empowering firepower strike ability of the Korean’s People Army.
Besides, ‘building and development’ of the armed forces was also discussed at the Central Military Commission meeting, the agency reported.
“Set forth at the meeting were new policies for further increasing the nuclear war deterrence of the country,” KCNA was quoted by Hindustan Times.
In April, many rumours flashed regarding Kim’s death after he did not even attend mid-month birthday celebration of his grandfather. The leader set aside all the false reports by turning up at the opening of a fertiliser factory later.
