New Delhi: In what will be music to the ears of television buffs in the country, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has launched a channel selector application through which they can choose channels of their choice and remove the ones they don’t want any more.
Subscribers can also view the subscription rates through the channel selector app.
The TRAI said in a statement that following the introduction of new tariff order for broadcasting services, consumers were facing difficulty to select their TV channels or bouquets of their choice on the web portals or apps of their respective Distribution Platform Operators (DPO).
So the telecom authority has come up with this innovation whereby it has developed an app which will fetch data from DPOs.
The TV Channel Selector app has been developed so as to provide a reliable, robust and transparent system for television subscribers.
The subscribers will receive an OTP on their registered mobile numbers (RMN) for authentication. In case the subscriber hasn’t registered a number with DPO, the OTP will come on TV screen.
