Bengaluru: At a time when Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is investigating the drugs angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru arrested actress Ragini Dwivedi in connection with a drugs racket case.
“Ragini Dwivedi has been arrested and taken into custody,” Bengaluru Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Patil said in a statement.
Two other persons named Rahul and Viren Khanna were also nabbed. Police had arrested another person a day earlier.
CCB, which is probing the drug menace in the Kannada film industry, had on Friday morning carried out searches at Ragini’s residence. She was taken to the CCB office and questioned for nearly seven hours before being taken into custody.
According to Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant, the CCB launched a probe into the case after police seized a truck-load of marijuana in August.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested three persons from the city, who were allegedly supplying drugs to singers and actors in the Kannada film industry, which is also known as ‘Sandalwood’.
