Now, Tamil Nadu Imposes Night Curfew & Lockdown On Sundays

Chennai: Tamil Nadu on Sunday imposed a statewide night curfew from 10 pm to 4 am, starting on April 20. On Sundays, there will be a complete lockdown in the state.

A dozen states/union territories, including Odisha, had earlier clamped night curfew/lockdown to curb the alarming spread of coronavirus cases in the country.

As per the Tamil Nadu government’s announcement, public buses, rental auto, taxi and private vehicles will not be allowed to operate during night curfew hours.

Restaurants can operate only take-away services at three scheduled time slots – 6 am to 10 am, 12 noon to 3pm, and from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Factories producing essential goods will be permitted to stay open during curfew hours. Employees who work in night shifts will be allowed to travel if they carry a letter of permission from their respective companies.

On Sundays, only essential services will be allowed to function.

Tamil Nadu reported 9,344 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
