Bhubaneswar: A Non-Resident Indian (NRI) and his family members alleged that valuables worth lakhs of rupees have been stolen from them outside the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPAI) here on Tuesday.
As per the complaint lodged by NRI Neeraj Chand at Air Field police station, valuables including nine passports belonging to his wife and two children, an expensive mobile phone, 3, 000 dollar and a non-citizen card have been stolen from them.
“We have come from Ghana for getting a glimpse of Lord Jagannath in Puri. We have become helpless after losing everything. So, we appeal to the airport authority and the local police to help us and initiate immediate action in this regard,” Neeraj said.
Police have started investigation into the matter and assured the family that efforts are on to get back their stolen valuables.
