Punjab’s Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav has instructed the Police Commissioner of Amritsar to ensure swift arrest of the assailants, who fled the spot after their pistols jammed.
Special DGP Rajender Dhoke, assigned to oversee the investigation, travelled to Amritsar as search for the criminals intensified.
Sukhchain’s wife Amandeep Kaur suspected the involvement of his former wife.
“They (miscreants) entered our residence and started firing… We have doubts regarding the involvement of Sukchain Singh’s ex-wife’s family members in this incident… Proper action should be taken,” Amandeep told ANI.
Sukhchain’s family has lodged an FIR against five family members of his ex-wife.
Sukhchain recently purchased a luxury car worth Rs 1.5 crore. The assailants entered his home on the pretext of enquiring about his car’s registration certificate.
