Elaborating further, 5T Secretary V K Pandian said that a viability gap funding of Rs 100 crore would be required to operate the flight and the CM has given in-principle approval for the same.
This has been one of the long-standing demands of the Odia expat community.
Earlier in the day, Naveen attended the Odisha Investors’ Meet where companies in the UAE and MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region expressed interest for investments worth over Rs 21,000 crore in the state with potential to employ more than 19,000 people. across sectors such as infrastructure, hospitality, logistics, chemicals and food processing, among others.
The CM assured the companies of unmatched facilitation and support.
Naveen will be flying back to Odisha on June 30 after the 10-day-long foreign trip, his second in 22 years as te chief minister of Odisha.
