ODI World Cup: Bumrah & Jadeja, Aided By Superb Fielding, Help India Restrict Bangladesh
Pune: The bowlers were on the mark and the fielding was superb yet again as Team India restricted Bangladesh to 256/8 in the ODI World Cup clash here on Thursday.
Jasprit Bumrah (2/41) had another good day in office, while Ravindra Jadeja (2/38) was stingy as ever to strangle Bangladesh in the middle and late overs after openers Litton Das (66) and Tanzid (51) gave them a decent start with a 93-run partnership.
Once Kuldeep Yadav (2/60) broke the threatening opening stand, Indian bowlers and fielders came into their own.
KL Rahul, whose wicketkeeping in the World Cup has been top class, took one of the catches of the tournament by flying to his left and grabbing the ball one-handed as Mehidy Hasan Miraz got a fine tickle down the legside off Mohammad Siraj.
Jadeja then brought off another stunning catch at point, diving to his right to pouch Mushfiqur Rahim’s fierce cut off Bumrah.
India are looking for their fourth victory in as many matches.
