Bhubaneswar: Odia actress Bidusmita Dash Mantry has lodged a police complaint against a real estate company accusing it of duping her of Rs 15 lakh on the pretext of providing a plot in Bhubaneswar.
The actress, known for her role in ‘Badhu Nuhen Mu Bandhu’ in 2019, had contacted Real Developer & Construction firm for purchasing a plot here. Managing Director of the real estate firm, Arunjyoti Pattnaik had promised to provide her a plot in Kalinga Vihar area in the state capital, sources said.
Bidusmita claimed she had deposited Rs 15 lakh in advance as per the agreement and was required to pay the rest amount after the registration of land.
The real estate MD reportedly assured the actress that the land registration would be completed within two months. However, the paper works are still pending and registration is yet to be done, she alleged.
Bidusmita further alleged that she contacted the real estate firm several times, but they continued to give her false promises and evasive responses.
Unable to get a piece of land, the actress has lodged a complaint with the Khandagiri police station here in connection with the matter. Acting on the complaint, the police have registered a case and launched an investigation, sources said.
The MD of the real estate company was not immediately available for comment.
