Shimla/Bhubaneswar: It was her post on instagram about her upcoming Odia film, ‘Paglu’, that caught our attention. “Those who asked me about doing more Odia films, here it is, ‘Paglu’ releasing in ur nearest theatre soon,” wrote national-award winning actor Prakruti Mishra.
The film was shot three years back, she added.
When Odisha Bytes contacted her to know more about this romantic movie, Prakruti sprung a bigger surprise for her fans, her foray into Bollywood. She is currently shooting for ‘Defaulters’, a film by OK Movies and co-produced by PVR Pictures, in Shimla.
“This is my first schedule of the shoot for the movie, which is a romantic comedy. It is about five students, who end up in a college in Shimla after being rusticated from their respective institutes,” she said.
Interestingly, she has been presented in the movie as a student of KIIT, Bhubaneswar.
Prakruti is paired opposite Bhavesh Kumar, whose movie ‘Hawayein’ on a solo traveller is slated for May 1 release. The student brigade also includes Naveen, Rajdutta, Subhankar and Ashutosh.
However, this is not the only movie that she has signed with the production house. Her next is a bilingual movie ‘Science’. “It is a thriller and I am again cast opposite Bhavesh in this movie, which will go on the floor in May. It is being made both in Tamil and Hindi,” said the bubbly actress, who had won praises for her acting in ‘Hello Arsi’.
She had won a Special Mention at the 65th National Film Awards in 2018 for ‘Hello Arsi’. “It was this movie that got me recognition and I could draw the attention of producers,” she said.
Prakruti was last seen in the reality show ‘Ace Of Space Season 2’ telecast on MTV.
