Bhubaneswar: Extending their helping hand to fight COVID-19, a doctor couple has donated a mobile testing van to the state government.
New York-based Dr Tapti Panda, an obstetrics and gynaecology specialist and her husband Dr Rajan have donated the specially designed van costing Rs 11 lakh to the government to collect swab samples and conduct COVID-19 test.
The van has been put into service in the state’s COVID-19 hotspot Ganjam district which has reported more than 4000 positive cases.
Besides testing facility, the van is equipped with disinfectant provision, and disposal of clinical waste. Around 100 tests have reportedly been conducted in the van which collects swab samples from the doorstep of the people.
