Odia IRS Officer Simanchala Dash Appointed Advisor To IMF Executive Director
Bhubaneswar: The Appointments Committee of Cabinet on Sunday approved the proposal for appointment of Odisha-born IRS officer Simanchala Dash as an advisor to Executive Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC.
The appointment is for a period of three years, informed Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions.
Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik took to Twitter congratulating the officer: “Congratulate IRS officer from #Odisha and Principal Special Director of Enforcement Directorate (ED), Government of India, Simanchala Dash on being appointed as advisor to Executive Director of IMF in Washington DC. Dash, a 1988-batch IRS-IT officer, served as private secretary to the then finance minister (late) Arun Jaitley from July 2014 to July 2017.
In July this year, he got a year extension as Principal Special Director, Enforcement Directorate. He was appointed to this newly-created post in March 2018 for two years and tasked with investigating money laundering among other related offences.
