Odia IRS Officer Simanchala Dash Appointed Advisor To IMF Executive Director

Bhubaneswar: The Appointments Committee of Cabinet on Sunday approved the proposal for appointment of Odisha-born IRS officer Simanchala Dash as an advisor to Executive Director of International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC.

The appointment is for a period of three years, informed Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions.

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik took to Twitter congratulating the officer: “Congratulate IRS officer from #Odisha and Principal Special Director of Enforcement Directorate (ED), Government of India, Simanchala Dash on being appointed as advisor to Executive Director of IMF in Washington DC. Wish him the very best for this new responsibility.”

 

Dash, a 1988-batch IRS-IT officer, served as private secretary to the then finance minister (late) Arun Jaitley from July 2014 to July 2017.

In July this year, he got a year extension as Principal Special Director, Enforcement Directorate. He was appointed to this newly-created post in March 2018 for two years and tasked with investigating money laundering among other related offences.
