Bhubaneswar: Abhilash, an Odia short film based on the COVID-19 lockdown, has been screened at the Cannes International Film Festival in France.
The film, which is helmed by the Director of Nrutya Kala Gabesana Kendra, Guru Krishna Chandra Sahu, entered the final round of selection by the juries of nine countries.
Out of 82 films from across the world, four films from India were officially nominated for screening at the festival.
Speaking to the media, Sahu said that the short Odia film is based on the government’s message to the people to be safe by staying at their homes. The purpose of the film is to show that the people without any facilities or equipment are making their lives safe, he added.
