Odia Teen’s Craftsmanship Makes It To India Book Of Records

Puri: An 18-year-old boy from Kumutipatna in Puri district has etched his name in ‘India Book of Records’ for creating a miniature model of Nandighosa (Lord Jagannath’s chariot) with 2,575 ice-cream sticks.

Biswajit Nayak, a second-year diploma student, achieved the feat of creating the 27-inch high and 22-inch wide chariot last June. It took him 10 days to complete it.

He has received a certificate, gold medal, a pen and a credential letter from India Book of Records for his achievement.

This is not the first instance when Biswajit has crafted a wonder with ice-cream sticks. When he was in Class VII, he had created a miniature Ratna Sinhasan and installed an idol of Lord Jagannath on it.

Biswajit shared that he is soon trying to go for another achievement. He, however, refused to divulge the details now.
