Bhubaneswar: Journalist, columnist and literary figure Rabi Kanungo from Rourkela breathed his late Wednesday night around 1:15 am at a hospital in Bhubaneswar. He was 83.
Kanungo leaves behind an enduring legacy in Odia language, literature, and journalism.

As the editor of Odia daily Suryaprabha, he earned respect for his fearless approach and bold, principled, and independent journalism. He was also regarded as a pioneer in promoting and preserving the Odia language through his writings and editorial leadership that championed integrity and clarity.
