Cuttack: Sibabrata Das, head of the Geography Department at Ravenshaw University in Odisha’s Cuttack, has been nominated as a member of the Samsad (Court) of Visva Bharati.
President Droupadi Murmu, who serves as the Visitor of Visva-Bharati, has nominated Das to this position for a term of three years.
Das has authored 40 research articles that have been published in various national and international journals. Under his supervision, four scholars have successfully obtained their doctorate degrees. Additionally, he holds the position of State President for the Higher Education Branch of Akhil Bharatiya Rashtriya Shaikshik Mahasangh.
Earlier BJD MP from Odisha, Amar Patnaik, had also served in this position in the casual vacancy in 2020-2021.
